I am Max Broskij, working student at Beeminds and IT student. If all goes well, I will graduate in 2026. Until then, I’ll be working 8 to 20 hours a week at Beeminds on smart AI applications in the Intelligenthive®. Super interesting to do and I’m already looking forward to working here full time soon.
Early bird? Rather not.
My day starts either very early or just a little later. If I go to the office, my alarm goes off at 4:45. If I work at home, I can stay up until 8:45. As a Limbo, perhaps I should have looked for a job in the South, but the content of the work and my colleagues make it more than worth it.
After getting up, I freshen up, get dressed and eat a bowl of cottage cheese. Then at 9:00 I am ready for the daily stand-up. I usually then try to figure out from my sometimes jumbled notes where I had left off again. Maybe I should have just waited to work until I was done studying, but I’m glad I get this opportunity already. In the meeting my contribution is often small, but I do make sure there is laughter. I usually manage to keep things light-hearted.
Building AI and solving problems
After the stand-up, I dive into my to-do list in Azure DevOps. For me, it works well to get everything out of my head at the beginning of the day and break it down into small, concrete tasks. Then it’s a matter of ticking off. Sometimes I build a new feature, other times I add a new AI function to the backend. Or I improve the frontend of our Intelligenthive®.
I usually get input from Stefan or Michael. They translate customer wishes or ideas into an assignment. Together we think it through and it’s up to me to build it. Sometimes I get stuck and then comes my favorite moment of the day: calling the helpline. I learn a lot from my colleagues. They help me with a mix of slight reluctance and humor and always with a lot of knowledge. Top team.
A sporty break
Mid-day comes when I need some mental space. Today I walk to the gym. Ideally, I get the freedom to plan my hours flexibly. That way I don’t have to stand in line with the rest of the sporting Netherlands at 6 p.m.
After that, I work again nicely. While working, I listen to music. My playlist is very varied: from hardstyle to house, from rap to rock. No matter what is playing, the code is being written. And then I do that just a little more cheerfully.

Feature finished? Demo time!
Today I am working toward a clear goal: at 4 p.m. I will show a new feature to my colleagues. I find that moment both exciting and fun. I get feedback, new ideas and see appreciation for what I have built. That gives energy for the next features.
Eating, studying, gaming
Around 6 p.m. I close my laptop. At home, dinner is already ready (long live living at home) and after dinner I study for a while. Then it’s time to relax with a game of gaming. Currently I am playing Rocket League and reading another chapter from the book I am currently working on ‘The courage to be disliked’. Around midnight the lights go out.
What makes my workday successful?
A work day is successful for me when I have created something tangible. A feature that works. A demo that went well. Or a persistent bug that I solved myself. And if I have also learned something from a colleague, or by figuring something out myself, then I am more than satisfied.
