No client or project is the same and that is exactly what makes my work as a Data Architect at Beeminds so interesting. One day I’m working on data insights for a charity, the next on reports for a childcare organization. Everything we build comes together in our platform Intelligenthive® and is immediately available to all our customers. That requires smart, scalable solutions. And a team that keeps each other sharp. Fortunately, this is the case at Beeminds.

Get up

The day begins for me around 8:15 a.m. With a cup of coffee in hand and my laptop open on the kitchen worktop, I scan Intelligenthive®’s production processes. Are all the jobs running well? Everything stable? If not, I pick that up immediately. Because nothing is as important as a well-run platform that our customers can rely on.

Stand-up and sparring

Today I work from home and join the stand-up with our entire team online at 9:00 am. In 15 minutes we go over the day: where is the priority? Who is doing what? And what do we tackle together? This provides both overview and energy. Then I open DevOps and check my open tasks. Today I am working on a new reporting function for a client in the childcare sector and on an optimization for a Charity Fund. Two totally different domains, but both built within our Intelligenthive®.

Code, reviews and customer impact

My morning is otherwise devoted to building and reviewing. I read a colleague’s code, give feedback and set up a pull request myself. All with the goal: build scalable, stable and understandable solutions. After all, what we build is immediately available to all our customers. That makes it extra important to do it well and extra nice when it works.

Lunch and run

Just a break at 12:30. When I’m in the office, we have dinner together and often take a short walk. Just out of the screen, something different. At home, I tend to keep working, but today I take my time to eat lunch quietly.

Technology with a human face

In the afternoon I have a consultation with a colleague about a new functionality. What should we build, what is technically feasible and how will the customer experience it? I think it’s cool to have one foot in technology and the other in use. It is this connection that makes my work at Beeminds so valuable.

“Everything is about reliability and speed. Does everything go well? Then we put it live and our customers can use it immediately.”

Testing and deployment

Before the day ends, I test a deployment. Sometimes small, sometimes big, but always important. It’s all about reliability and speed. Does everything go well? Then we put it live and our customers can use it right away.

Shutting down and switching off

After a quick check that everything is running, I close at 5:30 pm. At home, family awaits, dinner and tonight I crawl on the couch.

What makes my workday successful?

When I have built something that works, feels good and makes an immediate impact. And when I have done that together with colleagues who are sharp, committed and, like me, love smart, human solutions. Then my day at Beeminds is more than successful.
