Azure Synapse (also called Azure Synapse Analytics) is a cloud-based platform for data integration and analytics offered by Microsoft. It is used to integrate data from different sources, to structure and organize data in a way suitable for analytics, and to gain insights from data. This is also called an ETL or ELT process.
Azure Synapse provides support for integrating data from different sources, such as data warehouses, data lakes and databases. It can be used for both batch processing and streaming processing of data and thus can handle both structured data and unstructured data.
It also provides powerful functionalities to easily mapping of data
with which to link source systems to your analytics environment. Finally, it offers powerful integration with reporting & dashboard tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
