You see the data model behind the question. And you build the dashboard that actually runs on it. We’re looking for a Data Consultant who understands how an organisation runs and works with the client to turn that into a data model with the right context. Then come the data products people actually use: semantic models, Power BI reports and AI agents. We’re looking for someone who dares to ask the question behind the question, and then gets hands-on.
With the Intelligenthive®, our AI data platform on Microsoft Fabric, we build a reliable data foundation within weeks for organisations such as UNICEF Netherlands, SportCity, Swinkels and Samenwerkende Kinderopvang. You connect the way they run their business to that platform. In this role you work for several clients at once: from financial group reporting at a holding company to ESG reporting in manufacturing and data-driven working at municipalities. This isn’t a solo secondment: you work as part of a team, on and with our own product. You keep up with the latest in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric and turn that knowledge into better data products for our clients.
About the role
As a Data Consultant, you’re the link between the way the client runs their business and the data underneath. You start with their goals: how does the client work, and which decisions could be better? In intakes and design sprints that you lead, you work with business and IT to map processes, information needs and data sources. Together with the client, you capture those insights in a data model with clear terms, facts, dimensions, definitions and a leading data source. That model becomes the shared language between business and technology. Only then do you choose which data product adds the most value, and which doesn’t.
Next, you agree with the client which use case comes first and build the data products in Power BI and Fabric: semantic models, DAX measures, dashboards and AI agents. Where you can, you reuse existing data products and sector models, such as the Dutch municipal data model (Gemeentelijk Gegevensmodel), and bring existing reports over to the Intelligenthive®. You work closely with our data engineers: you know what’s needed and what’s possible, they build the pipelines. By testing prototypes with end users, you make sure the solution lands in day-to-day work, with clear ownership and adoption. What you learn, you share with our product team, so the Intelligenthive® gets smarter with every client
What do you bring to us?
- You’re genuinely curious about how businesses run. How does month-end close work at a holding company? What does a childcare organisation steer on? You want to understand it before anything gets built.
- You think in data models (facts and dimensions, granularity, relationships and keys) and in data products: reusable, reliable and with an owner. Not just another dashboard.
- You know Power BI: you build a semantic model, write DAX and know why a report is slow.
- You build things yourself and work AI-first, in your own work and at the client.
- You’re not afraid to ask critical questions, including to a director, and you easily translate a technical story for the business and back again.
- You have a few years of experience as a BI or Power BI consultant, data analyst, business analyst or functional consultant with a heart for data, and you think at bachelor’s or master’s level (HBO/WO). A degree in data isn’t required.
- Nice to have: knowledge of Kimball, SQL, M, Python or R, and experience with a modern data platform such as Microsoft Fabric or Azure.
- Fluent Dutch and good English.
