A product that helps organizations really leverage their data. As a data architect I look at how to set up a solid data foundation, so that data does not remain just a technical story, but contributes directly to the strategic goals of a company. In addition, as a founder I am busy with many things at once. No day is the same, and that is exactly what makes my job so much fun!

The day begins with…

At 7 a.m. the alarm clock rings. First a good cup of coffee and waking up our dog, who, like me by the way, is not really a big fan of getting up early. Today I work from our office in Naarden, where I drive from Amsterdam in half an hour almost every day without traffic jams. As a native of Limburg, it remains cool to drive past the Rijksmuseum every day.

Starting up together

At 9 a.m. we have the daily stand-up with the whole company. We share what everyone is working on and help each other where necessary. This is how we make Intelligenthive® smarter every day, so we don’t run into the same things again with the next customer. Everything goes on the backlog to make sure we keep an overview. It’s also very effective and fun to start the day this way. That way, everyone is up to speed on what’s going on.

From SAP to Microsoft Fabric

Next on the agenda is a customer workshop. The customer’s supply chain experts explain their SAP product structures in detail. Together we translate that into an understandable data model and bring it to life directly in the Intelligenthive®. Satisfied, we leave the workshop. Because the data foundation really comes to life and even non-experts now understand how it works.

Later that morning, I have a call with the Microsoft Fabric product team to provide feedback on a few new features that deal with Real-time Intelligence. Interacting with the creators of the products we work with every day is always incredibly fun and inspiring. Unfortunately I can’t share anything about it yet, but I will soon… 😉

“These kinds of demos are always incredibly fun to do and today the reaction was, “We should have had this much earlier!”. A nice compliment to the whole team!”

Stefan Daelemans

Demos and vibe coding

After lunch, including a walk with the now awake office dog Toulouse, we show the Intelligenthive® to a potential, new customer in the manufacturing industry. We showed how to easily unlock data sources, make them part of your data foundation and chat directly with them via a data agent that you can unlock via Teams. Then we sparred on the possibilities of creating a Digital Twin based on the data collected. These kinds of demos are always incredibly fun to do and today the reaction was, “We should have had this much earlier!”. A nice compliment to the whole team!

Then I did another hour of “vibe-coding.” I was once a developer, but I let go of programming a long time ago. With Lovable, AI simply builds complete applications based on your prompts that you can host in your own environment. In this case, I built an application that makes it easier to manage the Microsoft Fabric baseline. Useful for managing security settings properly for our customers. It’s incredible what you can build with a few prompts today. We use this same technology to build and improve data pipelines. Every time, it’s impressive!

Well-run projects & new features

In the afternoon, I slide into a steerco (steering committee) meeting for a major migration project that is about to go live. The final touches are always exciting, but things are going pretty well. The team is up to speed and the data validation is complete except for one very small point.

Then I check the latest status of our September release in Azure DevOps. We sometimes release multiple times a day, so it’s easy to miss new features if you don’t look for a few days. One cool feature the team put live, I immediately tested in our demo environment where all our integration tests run so we don’t release features to customers that don’t do it. Test passed in this case!

New features

And then it was time for the last meeting of the day: the Intelligenthive® sprint demo. Always a fun time to see everything come together. My favorite feature in this sprint is hard to choose. I’m very happy with our latest release that allows us to give users read access to Power BI reports at a significantly reduced cost without requiring a Power BI Pro license. This feature came about because our customers asked for it. A few weeks later it’s in the product and available to all Intelligenthive customers. This is incredibly great news, because the cost savings are nice for our customers.

Closing with a beer

The day ends during Friday afternoon drinks with a cold Uiltje beer from our client Swinkels at the office. The Beeminds favorite? The Data Driven IPA of course 🙂

What makes my workday successful?

When I see pride in our team because together we make an impact with our clients.

I am working with our team on the Intelligenthive®.
